Wight Woodturners

at the

Wolverton Manor Garden Fair

5th & 6th September 2015

Wight Woodturners have demonstrated their craft at the Wolverton Fair for many years. However, 2015 was just a little different. Our valiant members setting up our stand were able to have a new arrangement with the “sales” table in full view of the public entering the Craft/Demonstrations marquee. This year all the proceeds from the sales were donated to the Earl Mountbatten Hospice as the Club’s chosen charity.

On our stand were some of the best examples of our members work and this together with live turning demonstrations on two lathes all attracted more visitors than usual over the busy weekend. This provided a wonderful opportunity to promote our club and introduce people to the creative, satisfying and absorbing pastime of wood turning.

The sale of work donated by members raised in the order of £300 for the Hospice. A fantastic result! For more details on the Fair do read our Chairman’s September edition of Turning Points.

The photos below capture just a little of the atmosphere Wight Woodturners part in the Fair.
